Lightweight concretes include those with a density of up to 1500 kg/m3. Lightweight materials of artificial or natural origin are used as fillers
- expanded clay, agloporite;
- polystyrene, pumice;
- shavings, sawdust;
- ash and slag waste;
- expanded vermiculite or perlite.
In addition, lightweight concretes are made using gas or foaming agents that form closed pores in the concrete.
Cellular concretes are used in the construction of building structures to reduce the load on foundations, improve noise insulation and heat-insulating characteristics.
